How to use an M3U link for IPTV
An M3U link is a web address that returns your channel lineup as text. You paste it into an IPTV player once; the player downloads the lineup, builds your channel list, and can re-download it later to pick up changes.
What is inside the link
A typical provider link looks something like http://example.com:8080/get.php?username=USER&password=PASS&type=m3u_plus. Two things follow from that shape:
- It contains your credentials. Treat the link like a password. Anyone who has it has your subscription.
- It is generated on demand. The provider builds the lineup when you request it, which is why the same link can return different channels next month.
Loading it
- Copy the whole link. Truncating it is the most common setup mistake.
- In your player, choose the M3U link option and paste.
- Let the import finish. Large lineups take longer the first time.
- Add your XMLTV guide URL separately for programme information.
On a television
Do not type the link with a remote. Use a player that lets you pair from your phone — scan the QR code shown on the TV, enter the link on your phone, and it transfers over Wi-Fi.
Keeping it working
- Refresh periodically. Providers add and remove channels; a refresh re-reads the current lineup.
- Do not share it. Beyond the security issue, most subscriptions limit concurrent streams, and a shared link will lock you out of your own service.
- Re-copy after any provider change. Renewals and plan changes often regenerate credentials.
When the link stops working

Almost all of these are provider-side. A player can only present what the link returns — if the link returns nothing, no app can fix that.
